REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

Age Groups:

To enroll a child must be 4 years old on or before Sept 1 of the current registration period year to play and not turn 18 before September 1 of the current registration period year.  Ex. Tommy must be 4 by Sept 1 2023 to play for the 2024 basketball season.

Age divisions:

4-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 boys/coed leagues and 7-10, 11-12, & 13-14 girl’s league. A child’s must be 7 and not turn 15 of September 1 of the current registration period year. Ex. Jane must be 8 by Sept 1 2023 to play for the 2024 basketball season...  If we do not have enough participation for a girls only league, they will be combined with the boys.

Cost of Registration: 

$65.00 for age group 4-6 

$65.00 for age groups 7-8, 9-10 11-12, 13-14, and 15-17

Skills Evaluation

The skills evaluation will be for ALL players. Skills evaluations will be held at the PSA REC CENTER Gym. All participants need to attend the skill’s evaluations. Boys and girls should attend. Times and dates are listed on the Parents Information letter below.

What’s next for your child after registration?  

They attend the PLAYERS SKILL’S EVALUATION:  

The skills evaluation will be for new players and returning players. They must all attend. This year the evaluations will be held at Camden County Recreation Department on  Monday Nov 27th ,Tuesday Nov 28th and Wednesday Nov 29^th    and the coaches’ team draft meetings will be held on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th   (subject to change) . Children wanting to play must be registered. Roster limits are 12 per team in basketball. 

 Skills Evaluation schedule: 

The 4-6 age groups do not have skills evaluations in basketball. The Basketball coaches will receive their rosters no later than Dec 4th.  Basketball practices should begin on or before Dec 6th.

  If you haven’t heard from a coach by Dec. 8th, please call the athletic office. Girls may begin their season earlier.

If there are only enough kids registered for one team in a particular age group, there will not be a skills evaluation for that age group/city. All kids will be notified if it happens.

Coaches Information: Please look at parents information sheet for evaluation dates and draft dates.

Everyone wanting to coach or help with a team in any capacity must fill out a coaching application, a background check form and provide a copy of your valid driver’s license. You must be 18 years old to be considered a coach and attend the coaching certification clinic. You must submit to and pass a background check. All coaches must fill out a coaching application for every sport every year. The Coaches meetings will be posted on the information sheet that we give out with registration.

Games:

The teams usually have two games per week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are the days during the week they could be playing. Games are held at local schools and the PSA REC Center.

Practices:

Practices will be held at the local schools and the PSA rec center during the season. It will depend on what schools are available to us to use. They usually start at 4:30pm or later. A coach is welcome to practice outside if he desires.  

Seasons:

We usually begin to play games the first of January after the Christmas Holidays.

Trophies:

The team may elect to purchase end of season trophies. This is optional and the cost is the responsibility of the parents.

Uniforms:

Team uniforms will be furnished by the PSA. All teams are required to wear the jerseys furnished by the PSA for games. NO EXCEPTIONS. 

What does the registration fee cover? The fee helps to offset costs of the season, such as the officials for the sport, any equipment needed, and other expenses associated with the sport. The registration fee does not cover the cost of uniforms.

Please note:  In response to Georgia House Bill 248, the Camden County Leisure Services has adopted the following return to play policy: “Any youth exhibiting symptoms of concussion will be removed from the game, competition, tryout, or practice and must be evaluated and cleared for return to play by a medical doctor.  Any youth athlete that has been deemed to have sustained a concussion by a health care professional will not be permitted to return to play until parents have presented proof of clearance to return to play from a medical doctor.”
